Tabsure Privacy Policy

Applies to: the Tabsure Chrome extension ("Tabsure — Auto Tab Backup & Session Restore")

Summary

Tabsure backs up your open tabs on your own device. We do not have servers that receive your tabs. There is no account, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising. The only network request Tabsure makes is to check a PRO license key, and only if you enter one.

What Tabsure stores, and where

To back up and restore your sessions, Tabsure reads the URL, title and pinned state of the tabs in your normal (non-incognito) browser windows. It saves this in chrome.storage.local, which is on your computer and inside your Chrome profile. It stores:

• Snapshots of your windows and tabs (URL, page title, pinned flag, window grouping, time of the snapshot)
• Your Tabsure settings, such as the backup interval
• If you activate PRO: your license key, the activation ID, and the purchase email returned by the license server

This data is never sent to us or to any third party. Tabsure does not read page contents, form data, passwords, cookies or browsing history. It never touches incognito windows.

Tabsure uses the letter of a site's domain as its icon, so it does not load favicons from the internet.

Network requests

Tabsure makes no network requests unless you activate a PRO license. When you do:

• Activation: your license key and a device label such as "Tabsure on Chrome (mac)" are sent to Dodo Payments (https://live.dodopayments.com/licenses/activate), our payment and licensing provider.
• Weekly check: your license key and activation ID are sent to https://live.dodopayments.com/licenses/validate.
• Deactivation: your license key and activation ID are sent to https://live.dodopayments.com/licenses/deactivate.

Sharing and sale of data

We do not sell, rent or share your data. We do not use it for advertising, creditworthiness or lending, and we do not transfer it for any purpose unrelated to Tabsure's single purpose of backing up and restoring tabs.

Your control

• Delete a backup: open Tabsure, select the backup and click Delete.
• Export: download a backup as a file whenever you like.
• Delete everything: uninstall Tabsure. Chrome removes all of its stored data.
• License: click "Deactivate on this browser" in Settings to remove the key from the device.

Children

Tabsure is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date. If a change affects what data leaves your device, we will say so in the extension's release notes before it ships.
